Role Structure
Authority & Responsibilities

The Guild operates on a tiered authority structure with three main branches: Administrative (Site Control & Structure), Moderation (Rules & Enforcement), and Member/Contributor (Community & Content Creation). Below is a complete overview of each role and what they can do.

Member & Contributor Branch
Newbie
Level 2
Default state upon discovering the site.
Authority
None — Observational access only.
Responsibility
Read and explore the archive freely.
Junior Moderator
Level 3.5
Entry-level moderation support role assisting full moderators.
Authority
  • Monitor community behavior and flag issues
  • Assist in triage of reports
  • Make recommendations to Moderators and Senior Moderators
Responsibility
Support Moderation staff by handling routine monitoring tasks and escalating issues as needed. Actual enforced permissions are equivalent to moderation support as configured by site policy.
Site Member
Level 3
Registered user level with basic community access.
Authority
  • Comment on pages
  • Upvote pages and comments
  • Report content
Responsibility
Participate respectfully in community discussions and follow community standards.
Contributor
Level 4
Entry into active participation (must apply). Considered part of the Guild's working body.

  • Edit registry pages

Responsibility
Create and maintain high-quality archive entries. No authority over users or rule enforcement — purely a content role (author-level).
Moderation Branch
Moderator
Level 4+
Frontline enforcement role focused on rule adherence.
Authority
  • Remove inappropriate content
  • Warn users
  • Escalate serious issues
Responsibility
Monitor community behavior and enforce content standards. Report violations transparently and follow established guidelines.
Senior Moderator
Level 5
Experienced moderation authority with expanded capabilities.
Authority
  • Handle complex disputes
  • Temporarily restrict contributors (up to 2 months)
  • Guide junior moderators
Responsibility
Mentor moderation staff and handle escalations. Ensure consistency in enforcement standards across the team.
Deputy Chief of Moderation
Level 5
Second-in-command of the moderation branch.
Authority
  • Oversee moderator performance

  • Assist Chief of Moderation
  • Promote moderation staff (with authority)
Responsibility
Manage moderation team operations and coordinate enforcement with administration.
Chief of Moderation
Level 5+
Head of all moderation operations and rule enforcement.

Responsibility
Establish and maintain moderation policies. Lead the moderation team and ensure fair, consistent enforcement across the Guild.
Administrative Branch
Administrator
Level 5
Core operational staff managing site structure and content approval.
Authority
  • Edit and approve pages
  • Enforce rules
  • Manage users (must include report logs when removing contributors)
Responsibility
Approve content and maintain site structure. Work alongside moderators to ensure stability.
Junior Administrator
Level 4.5
Support role for administrative tasks and content approval.
Authority
  • Edit and propose page changes
  • Assist in content approvals (requires senior sign-off for major changes)
  • Manage assigned site sections under supervision
Responsibility
Maintain site sections and assist Administrators. Actual operational permissions reflect the site's configured admin-support role and may be constrained compared to full Administrators.
Senior Administrator
Level 5+
Oversees major site sections and administrative teams.
Authority
  • Approve major structural changes
  • Supervise admins and moderation leadership
  • Ban users (with evidence)
  • Demote other admins (cannot demote moderators)
Responsibility
Oversee administrative operations and high-level site decisions. Provide strategic direction for the archive.
Deputy Chief Administrator
Level 6
Second-in-command of the administrative branch.
Authority
  • Handle escalations
  • Act in place of Chief Admin
  • Remove contributors independently
  • Demote moderation ranks below Deputy Chief of Moderation
  • Promote users (with authority)
Responsibility
Manage administrative operations and assist Chief Administrator in site governance.
Chief Administrator
Level 6+
Highest authority below Owner. Full control over system operations.

  • System-wide policy control

  • Promote users (with authority)
Responsibility
Oversee all administrative and moderation operations. Set system-wide policies and resolve conflicts at the highest level.
