Orientation Directive 001
Guild Lore, Operations, and Classification Standard
Welcome to the Guild
If you are reading this document, your account has been granted archive visibility under current Guild law.
Foundational Doctrine (ROSED)
ROSED stands for Red Oaker Shelter and Execution Department, the command philosophy that governs modern Guild operations. The Shelter half prioritizes containment, interpretation, and controlled observation. The Execution half authorizes decisive force against anomalies that cannot be stabilized without global casualty scenarios.
New personnel are expected to understand that ROSED is not contradictory. It is sequential. We shelter first. We execute only after viable containment paths have failed or become mathematically non-survivable.
Historical Timeline (Archon Era)
| Era | Archon / Authority | Core Shift |
|---|---|---|
| 1890-1942 | Dr. Mateo Hoffman | Foundational era. Study-first philosophy and early anomaly taxonomy. |
| 1942-1972 | Dr. Hans Schroeder | Militarization era. Capture, testing expansion, and early MRD formation. |
| 1972-1986 | Dr. Praskovya Sidorov | Structural era. Formalized classification framework and global infrastructure. |
| 1986-1989 | Instability Period | Leadership fracture, sealed primary site, multi-region data loss. |
| 1989-2005 | Mikolov "Ekat" Gunitsky | Reconstruction through hardline internal control and surveillance. |
| 2006-2012 | Charolette Windsor | Coexistence correction and ecological containment emphasis. |
| 2012-2015 | Government Interim | Distributed command model; high bureaucracy, low tactical speed. |
| 2015-Present | Javier Quincy | Modern stabilization, private command autonomy, MRD expansion. |
Threat Class Framework
The Guild uses a threat class model that blends containment complexity with operational danger. This is the live standard used in registry, moderation, and incident planning.
| Class | Operational Tier | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Alona | Low | Stable and predictable anomalies under standard controls. |
| Delphi | Moderate | Containable with active oversight and constrained exposure. |
| Soros | High | Actively dangerous anomalies requiring dedicated response units. |
| Vega | Critical | Regional or wider catastrophe potential; strategic-level handling. |
| Apophis | Absolute | Owner-governed authority class with override-level implications. |
| Erebus | Terminal | World-ending profile where no reliable containment path exists. |
Clearance Ladder (Current)
Clearance is a permission model, not a rank title. Current live deployment uses Level 2 as minimum public-facing authenticated access.
| Clearance | Primary Role | Access Profile |
|---|---|---|
| Level 2 | Standard Personnel | Baseline authenticated archive access and low-risk submissions. |
| Level 4 | Moderator | Soros-tier moderation, review control, and operational triage. |
| Level 5 | Admin | Executive publication authority and system governance. |
| Level 6 | Owner | Global override, doctrine authority, and emergency protocol control. |
MRD Command Structure
Militarized Response Detachments are not interchangeable combat teams. Each detachment is domain-specialized and deployed according to threat geometry, not convenience.
| Detachment | Domain | Doctrine Use |
|---|---|---|
| Prometheus | Direct containment | Primary strike force for hostile Soros-class incidents. |
| Osiris / Osiris-A1 | Internal security / black protocol | Protocol enforcement and terminal fail-safe containment. |
| Galen / Galen A1 | Digital, signal, memetic | Counter-cognitohazard and anomalous information warfare. |
| Artemis | Biohazard and mutation | Pathogen-class and biologic containment theaters. |
| Thales | Animalistic anomaly behavior | Non-lethal control of instinct-driven entities. |
| Vanir / Ares / Ivar / Apate | Recovery, rapid response, macro-events, secrecy | Acquisition, lockdown, heavy anomaly management, and public veil control. |
Submission Taxonomy (Live)
Anomaly files now use structured designation families. The entry title must begin with the exact designation token.
| Family | Designation Format | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| ROS | ROS-0001 | Core Red Oaker specimen entries. |
| SLOA | SLOA-A000 | Specimen-linked anomalous objects. |
| SOA | SOA-0001 | Sentient or accursed object files. |
| SCTOR | SCTOR: 01 | Cross-testing operations reports. |
| TL | TL: 01 | Termination logs and closure records. |
Tales and artwork may still reference established anomaly designations to link narrative and visual supplements back to a canonical incident chain.
Current Strategic Posture
The Guild presently operates in a stabilization cycle under Quincy-era command doctrine. Private command sovereignty is retained, MRD autonomy is high, and global anomaly response is coordinated through distributed sites with centralized archive authority.
Your role as an operator, researcher, or reviewer is to keep the archive coherent under pressure. Disorder in records leads to disorder in containment. Accuracy is part of defense.
